The Second Shore Film Series is a program of nonfiction films curated around ideas of creativity, independence, and individuality in art, business, culture, and sport. Our goal is to support and engage the Baltimore creative community by encouraging self-expression and an independent, do-it-yourself spirit.
In addition to screening the films, each event will feature a discussion component. When possible we’ll host individuals who were involved in the production of the films. When we can’t do that we’ll feature local creative thinkers and professionals who will speak about the issues the films explore.
Our events will always be affordable – tickets will not cost more than $10 unless it can’t be helped.
The series is a joint venture between the Contemporary Museum and Slant Six Creative. Screenings will take place periodically with a goal of showing 2-4 films per year.
The first event is March 24, 2010 at the Windup Space in the Station North Arts & Entertainment District of Baltimore. We’ll be showing Lemonade (www.lemonademovie.com), which tells the stories of advertising professionals who found true passion and remade themselves after being laid off due to recent economic turmoil.
